This was my first book by this author. When I read a story set in a different era, I want to be transported completely to that time. What I don't care for is a contemporary story dressed up in period clothing and swaggering around period estates and structures. Unlikely Attraction is carelessly disarrayed with modern words, behaviors, unrealistic monetary values, and rules of society. There is a huge difference between fiercely guarding ones independence than acting completely out of character for the time period. The plot had potential; unfortunately it was poorly executed.
