In describing regency places, habits, and costumes, Heyer always does astoundingly well - but this is the most descriptive regency novel I have ever read (and I've read many). Heyer’s first trip into the Regency period was with Regency Buck in 1935 and 75 years later, it is still one of the best books. This book had it all: romance, angst, comedy, emotions, drama, mystery... This is why Heyer is the best-loved of all historical novelists.
