The plot sounded repetitive. We had another spinster falling for the disgraced, tormented hero. I should have known better!Penelope is Sarah MacLean's best heroine as of yet. Although, I believe she is going to get stiff competition from her bluestocking sister who is the star of the next book.Simon the Duke of Leighton introduced us to Penelope as his betrothed. As much as I wanted Juliana to find her happiness with Simon, I wondered what would happen to Penelope. Well, we meet her nine years later in this book as an almost spinster. I really don't want to give the plot away. We hardly know anything about the other three partners of the gaming hall. I am specially interested to learn more about the chief. Maclean's stories are great if you want modern interpretation of regency era romance. If you are a true fan of historical accuracies, you will find plenty of holes that you just have to gloss over.
